About the Role:
This role is for a growth‑minded Business Development Director to expand our client’s roster of business clientele. The Business Development Director is a true hunter. They will be identifying high‑potential brands, crafting the right service bundle, closing deals, and then handing off a clean, actionable brief to the client team. You’ll
leverage a deep Northwest Arkansas network, industry events, and data‑driven storytelling to build a steady pipeline and hit quarterly revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- New-Client Acquisition
- Find and qualify brands that need help selling at Walmart Stores, Walmart.com, Sam’s Club, Amazon, and other major retailers
- Build a steady pipeline and meet quarterly goals for new revenue
- Prepare clear pitch decks, price quotes, and contracts then lead the meetings that close the deal
- After signing pass the account to the client team with a clean summary and clear targets
- Market & Relationship Development
- Use your Northwest Arkansas and CPG contacts including buyers and brand leaders to open doors quickly
- Attend local mixers and national shows such as Expo West and The Summit to uncover leads
- Track what competing brokers are doing and share those insights with leadership
- Solutions Design
- Work with all teams to bundle the right services for each prospect
- Scope and price new engagements, ensuring profitability targets and capacity constraints are met
- Provide clear transition briefs and KPIs to the assigned National Account Manager or Client Team at close-won
- Reporting & Forecasting
- Keep the CRM current with deal stage value and expected close date then review weekly with your manager
- Summarize wins losses and pipeline health on an ongoing basis
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of hunter-side BD or sales experience in CPG, retail brokerage, or a Walmart/Amazon-focused service firm.
- Deep network within the Walmart/Sam’s ecosystem, with additional relationships at Amazon, Kroger, Costco, Albertsons, or Target being a plus.
- Strong command of retailer data tools (Retail Link, Scintilla, Amazon Vendor Central, Circana/Nielsen) to quantify opportunity in pitches.
- Polished storyteller that is confident with executive-level presentations, financial modeling, and contract negotiation.
- Hunter mindset: self-starter, high energy, thrives on prospecting and closing.
- Proficient with CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) and MS Office. Able to build concise decks and financial proformas.
- Willingness to travel ~25% for prospect meetings, conferences, and community networking.
Salary & Benefits:
- Annual Salary: $120,000 – 150,000, commensurate with experience
- Base Salary + Commission compensation based on client development
