Job Description

Multi-faceted role, with a key focus on driving growth with Target overall business, e-commerce, and assigned product categories within furniture, outdoor, and home departments.  Be the subject matter expert in assigned product category(ies) to help grow sales. This role requires a self-starter, with strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.

 

Responsibilites:

Product Support

  • Item set-up:  Own the item set up process with Target.  Work with factories to obtain correct information, and upload and manage correct information. Accuracy and On-time is very important.
  • Showroom and Product Line Review Support – Track and manage samples in showroom; support team in developing and maintaining showroom samples and display; receive, process and route as appropriate all inbound samples related to Target business.
  • Work with overseas office/factories and for product development and make sure new material and technique will be used for new designs.

Operations/Supply Chain Support

  • Maintain Power BI business intelligence platform and manage weekly sales reporting.
  • Develop skills to use Power BI to create visualizations and exception reporting related to in-stock, out-of-stock, inventory locations, product attribute performance, and other metrics.
  • Develop actionable insights for e-commerce, assigned categories and overall Target’s business utilizing Excel, analyze weekly and monthly selling reports and be prepared to offer suggestions based on customer need and availability.
  • Follow up on production timelines, including packaging, monitor production delivery dates, shipping status, & update our Sales staff & customers on a weekly basis.

Sales Development

  • Assist in company sales directives and achieving sales plans.
  • Information Management – Take responsibility for ensuring that product specifications and marketing information is accurate and complete for in-store and e-commerce items; Maintains and manages information in corporate comp shop database.
  • Maximize product category penetration in assigned accounts by assisting in the development of category expertise, market intelligence, and feature/benefit information.
  • Manage product sampling process, including sample tracking, assembly, presentation, account feedback, and disposal/donation; ensure timelines are met for PLR’s (product line reviews)
  • Create sales, educational and training presentations.
  • Work with e-commerce team to create appropriate product offerings for assigned account; ensure product is supported with appropriate marketing and digital content.
  • Manage product seeding/reviews program.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree required
  • 5-10 years work experience in the wholesale/retail field
  • Experience working with furniture and home categories is preferred.
  • Product development and management experience
  • Experience working on the Target Account
  • Proficient in MS Word, Highly skilled in PowerPoint & Excel; proficient in Power BI
