About the Role:

The Director of Supply Chain & Operations is responsible for leading through the company’s mission, vision, and values to develop a high-performing team that consistently delivers supply chain excellence. The Director oversees multiple departments including S&OP, Operations & Transportation, Logistics, Procurement/Sourcing, and the company-owned Manufacturing Plant in central AR.

 

Additionally, the Director will be responsible for leading the company through high volume growth and scale over the next few years. We are seeking a strategic leader who can lay the foundation for sustainable growth, develop scalable processes, and implement systems & processes that will support the expansion while maintaining operational excellence.

 

This leader drives the business through a focus on performance (S&OP process, supply performance indicators, and capacity planning), people (talent acquisition, training and development), and process (standard operating procedures and continuous improvement). This role demands a strong passion for operational excellence, a results-oriented mindset, and the skill to navigate unforeseen complexities swiftly and effectively, while also leading, influencing, and nurturing their team.

Key Responsibilities:


The Director of Supply Chain & Operations is a champion of the organization’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

  • Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process from End to End, ensuring executive sign-off of the plan, including Risks & Opportunities.
  • Build, track, and report on key KPIs and metrics to ensure the business is running healthy and to drive data-based decision making across the organization.
  • Oversee Corporate Departments, S&OP, Operations & Transportation, Logistics, Procurement/Sourcing departments to ensure alignment with overall supply chain strategy.
  • Work directly with the Plant General Manager to optimize manufacturing operations, efficiency, and quality.
  • Conduct capacity and working capital scenarios to drive business decisions.
  • Interface with key retail partners through weekly operations meetings to gain alignment with on-demand insights and scenarios.
  • Establish the supply strategy for the tactical and strategic planning horizon.
  • Review, analyze and react to financial and operational reporting regularly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain prompt, regular attendance and hold team members accountable to the company attendance policy.

People

  • Directly supervise the General Manager of the manufacturing facility and provide strategic guidance for plant operations.
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent, and efficiently address any staffing needs and open positions.
  • Build a highly engaged team that embodies the organization’s brand through effective collaboration, open and honest communication, and prioritization of work.
  • Create an inclusive environment that inspires and encourages the growth and engagement of associates.
  • Support all aspects of professional development, including training, providing individualized competency-based feedback and coaching, performance reviews, succession planning, and individual development plans.
  • Regularly participate in ongoing training to enable continuous professional development and drive performance excellence.
  • Model a culture of operational excellence by working alongside the leadership team and by establishing priorities, providing clear direction and support, and sharing best practices.

Process

  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Manage 3rd party distribution, logistics partners, and contract manufacturers effectively to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Continuously improve S&OP techniques and methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Use company planning tools as directed to adjust forecasts and manage supply chain processes to ensure accurate planning and reporting.
  • Oversee both in-house manufacturing operations and contract manufacturing relationships to optimize production efficiency and quality.
  • Support continuous improvement by influencing the adoption of company initiatives and technology, communicating expectations, and ensuring the execution of all team tasks.
  • Regularly communicate and provide feedback to leadership on business trends and opportunities, operational challenges, supply chain needs, and competitive landscape in the beauty industry.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Master’s degree or professional certification (APICS, CSCP, etc.) preferred

Experience

  • 7-10 years of fast-paced, supply chain management experience at a Senior Manager or Director level
  • Experience in the beauty, cosmetics, or personal care industry is a plus
  • Strong background in managing manufacturing relationships
  • Financial management: success with driving supply chain efficiency, interpreting reporting data, managing budgets, and controlling expense
  • Supply chain management: proven ability with monitoring inventory levels, achieving operational excellence, driving a service culture, and executing supply planning directives
  • Leadership management: experience with attracting, developing, and motivating top talent, swiftly adapting to change and leading others through the change-curve, developing collaborative relationships with others, and leading and influencing a team

Skills

  • Proficient with NetSuite ERP systems and advanced supply chain planning software
  • Experience with statistical forecasting and demand planning tools
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to motivate teams and drive organizational change
  • Elevated experience in manufacturing and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) best practice methodology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable

Salary and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $150,000 – 170,000
  • 20% Annual Bonus Potential
