Our client is a home décor manufacturer headquartered in China, specializing in curated, on-trend product collections for the North American home décor market. They build thoughtfully curated assortments driven by precise selling data and market trends, and operate as part of a larger parent organization whose entities are recognized as best-in-class within their respective retail channels. This is a long-standing, growing company that continues to push the edge of innovation and creativity as it expands into new markets.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales will drive new business and manage relationships with specific high end furniture retail accounts across the North American home décor and furnishings market. This is a hands-on, account-facing sales role focused on business development, retailer relationships, and revenue growth. The Director of Sales will report work closely with internal teams on forecasting, inventory planning, and order execution to support the accounts they manage.

• Work Arrangement: Remote (based in the US)
• Travel Requirements: Regular travel to major industry trade shows, in-person account visits and international headquarters visits.

Key Responsibilities

Account Sales & Business Development

• Identify, prioritize, and secure new business opportunities with target retail accounts, including high end furniture and home décor retailers.
• Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers at assigned retail accounts
• Own the sales cycle for target accounts, from prospecting through negotiation and close
• Develop account-specific growth plans, pricing proposals, and sales strategies
• Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals for assigned accounts and territories

Account Management & Execution

• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned retail accounts, ensuring strong day-to-day relationships and customer satisfaction
• Coordinate with internal teams on forecasting, order management, and inventory planning to support account needs
• Guide retailer onboarding, vendor setup, and compliance requirements for new accounts
• Monitor account performance, sell-through data, and market trends to identify growth opportunities and address risks

Collaboration & Reporting

• Partner with the China-based team on product launches, forecasting, and customer requirements relevant to assigned accounts
• Represent the company at major industry trade shows and events.
• Provide regular sales reporting and account updates to leadership
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a strong customer experience from onboarding through ongoing account management

Required Qualifications

• Direct experience in wall décor, decorative art, home décor, or closely related home furnishing industries
• Experience selling to mid-to-high-end furniture stores, home furnishing retailers, and specialty home décor channels
• A strong understanding of these customers’ buying processes, product preferences, and business models
• Strong relationship-building and new business development capabilities

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $150,000 – 200,000 commiserate with experience
