Job Overview:
The ideal candidate for the National Account Manager role is a detail-oriented individual who can develop and manage day-to-day business activities for Walmart and BJ’s accounts. They are accustomed to presenting products, preparing quotes and item agreements, analyzing sales, and maintaining positive relationships with buyers with detailed follow-ups.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a market entry strategy for Walmart, identifying the right categories, item assortment, and go-to-market approach to secure initial placement
- Lead new business development efforts with Walmart merchants, building relationships and navigating internal processes to win first-time distribution
- Own end-to-end onboarding for Walmart, including item setup, vendor systems, compliance requirements, and launch execution
- Manage and grow the existing BJ’s Wholesale Club business, identifying opportunities to expand assortment, improve performance, and increase distribution
- Develop and execute new product launch strategies across both accounts, aligning innovation with customer needs and category trends
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify whitespace opportunities and inform assortment, pricing, and positioning decisions
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data (Retail Link, Scintilla, syndicated sources) into clear, actionable insights
- Deliver compelling presentations to internal stakeholders and retail buyers, effectively communicating strategy, performance, and growth opportunities
- Build and maintain accurate, consistent reporting to track sales performance, monitor key metrics, and support data-driven decision-making
Qualifications:
- 4-year bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Walmart Sales/Account Management experience required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle multiple projects
- High customer-oriented attitude
- Ability to work effectively both in an independent and team environment
- Experience working with Product development and new item launches is highly preferred.
- Ability to understand and identify market trends and conduct market research
- Project management and strategic planning skills, and follow-through
- CPG, housewares/storage & org. and/or major brands experience preferred
- Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $140,000 – 170,000
